NASBO

NASBO (National Association of Small Boat Owners) has the main goal to strengthen the small boat sector in Iceland.  NASBO is convinced that fishery management systems in the future will enhance the usage of fixed fishing gears as well as recognize the rights of fishing communities to harvest their traditional fishing grounds.

CME OP -Les pêcheurs d'Etaples-

The CME OP –Les pêcheurs d’Etaples– is a recognized organization of artisanal fishers (since 1958). Bringing together nearly 70 boats (mainly 10-24 coastal trawlers), the organization aims to support local artisanal fishing through: valorization of products/activities/people; and multi-service for both people and boats. Fish products are diverse and very fresh (landed after 12 to 48h). Fishing grounds are near the coast (English Channel – South North-Sea) and durably utilized for centuries.

Katosi

The association Katosi (Katosi Women Development Trust) is a network of 12 women living and working on the shores of Lake Victoria. Their goal is to stimulate the ability of women to improve their standard of living in pursuit of fishing activities in an environment dominated by men.

EMEDO

EMEDO is an organization working for economic development and environmental management. Founded in March 2006 in Tanzania, it has acquired the status of NGO in october of that year. It aims to enable rural communities to strengthen their participation and representation and access to an environemental education fundamental to their economic development. The organization is committed to finding new ways to help rural men, women, youth, to grow, to strengthen their management capacity of the environment, find their place in society, to form, to be part of networks, to be heard, in the idea of improving their living conditions.

Mauritania 2000

The NGO Mauritania 2000 has been acting for more than 15 years in the field of fishing in Mauritania. Its goal is the improvement of living conditions for women working in fish-related activities (processors and traders) in the areas of Nouakchott, Nouadhibou, and Banc d'Arguin. Mauritania 2000 aims to improve women’s capacity building, to help women get organized, and to make them recognized in a predominantly male sector.
