RFA introduces the tale "Pekka and the messenger salmon"

June 1, 2009

The RFA is proud to support the tale "Pekka and the messenger salmon".
This tale, written by the Unesco Club of Rauma (Finland) was born from
the meeting between Sylvain Lunetta (teacher) and Véronique Angot
(administrator at the European Commission - Directorate-General for
Maritime Affairs and Fisheries). Their wish has been to have a tale on
overfishing, citizenship spirit, and sustainable development written and
illustrated by kids. The story takes place in Finland, where the kids
live. It describes the meeting between Mikko, little kid from the Sami
autochthonous people, his grandfather Pekka, and a migrating salmon. We
invite you to read this story and to enjoy its illustrations here (French version).
